The sunlight is gone
and the ground is all wet
as the sand is pushed back and forth,
back and forth
by the waves.
I enjoy my friends and friendships,
loved ones
and lost ones,
my quiet time
where I can be alone and just think . . .
The waves are coming closer
and life is catching up to me
(though I'm only almost twenty-three)
and sometimes I feel my life's been wasted
but I know its these times,
my quiet times
and when I'm among friends
that I know why life's worth living.
The last time I saw you was long ago
and now that I'm here I've come to know
that when I needed you
(and when I thought I didn't)
You were there all along
and I was not alone.
You may go into the fields or down the lane, but don't go into Mr. McGregor's Garden or you will be put into a pie and eaten by that old man.
About Me
- justind.covey
- I enjoy watching MASH and reading the poetry of Charles Bukowski. I love learning and thinking about God and this odd little universe he created. And I am overwhelmed with joy that I can write an "About Me" section on a website and not care what any kids will think of me by reading it. The rest you'll have to learn for yourself.
